Wombat

Wombats are sturdy, burrowing marsupials native to Australia, belonging to the family Vombatidae. These nocturnal creatures are known for their distinctive waddling gait and their ability to dig extensive underground burrows with their powerful claws and rodent-like teeth. Wombats have a unique backward-facing pouch, which protects their young from the dirt while digging. With their thick fur and robust bodies, they are well-adapted to survive in diverse habitats ranging from coastal regions to mountainous terrains. Despite their docile appearance, wombats can be surprisingly aggressive when threatened.
