Dunnart

Dunnarts are small, nocturnal marsupials belonging to the family Dasyuridae, native to Australia and New Guinea. With over 19 species, these tiny mammals resemble mice and are characterized by their pointed snouts and large, round ears. Dunnarts are insectivorous, primarily preying on insects and small invertebrates. They are known for their remarkable adaptability, thriving in a range of habitats from arid deserts to lush forests. Despite their resilience, some dunnart species are threatened by habitat loss and predation by invasive species, making conservation efforts crucial for their survival.
