The Swiftlet bird family, belonging to the Apodidae family, is renowned for its remarkable flight speed and agility. Found predominantly in the tropical and subtropical regions of Southeast Asia, these small birds are characterized by their slender bodies and long, narrow wings. Swiftlets are notable for their unique nesting habits; some species, like the edible-nest swiftlet, create nests entirely from their saliva, which are harvested for the delicacy known as bird’s nest soup. Their echolocation abilities, rare among birds, enable them to navigate and forage in the dark caves they often inhabit.
