Redstart

Redstarts are small, active warblers known for their vibrant plumage and distinctive tail-fanning behavior. Found across the Americas, these birds often flash their brightly colored tails—orange in American Redstarts and reddish hues in others—to flush out insect prey. Their energetic foraging style and striking appearance make them a favorite among birdwatchers during spring and autumn migrations. Despite their small size, redstarts are bold and captivating birds of the forest understory.
