Sengi

The Sengi, also known as elephant shrews, belong to the family Macroscelididae and are small, insectivorous mammals native to Africa. Despite their name, these creatures are not related to shrews but are more closely associated with elephants, aardvarks, and sea cows. Sengis are characterized by their elongated snouts, which they use skillfully to forage for insects and other small invertebrates. They are known for their impressive speed and agility, often seen darting through the underbrush of their diverse habitats, ranging from dense forests to arid deserts. Sengi species play a crucial role in their ecosystems, contributing to pest control and serving as prey for larger predators.
