Mole

Moles are small, burrowing mammals belonging to the family Talpidae. They are well-adapted to a subterranean lifestyle, with cylindrical bodies, velvety fur, and powerful forelimbs equipped with large paws for digging. Most species have poor eyesight but possess a keen sense of touch and smell, which aids them in navigating their dark underground habitats. Moles primarily feed on earthworms and other small invertebrates, playing a crucial role in soil aeration and pest control. Found in North America, Europe, and Asia, these fascinating creatures are integral to their ecosystems, despite often being regarded as garden pests.
