Dormouse

Dormice are small rodents belonging to the Gliridae family, known for their hibernation habits and nocturnal lifestyle. These mammals are predominantly found in Europe, although some species inhabit parts of Africa and Asia. Dormice are characterized by their furry tails, large eyes, and keen sense of hearing, which aid in their survival in the wild. They primarily feed on fruits, nuts, and insects, and are often found in woodland and shrubland habitats. Despite their elusive nature, dormice play a crucial role in their ecosystems, particularly in seed dispersal and as prey for larger animals.
