Sabrewing

The Sabrewing birds belong to the hummingbird family, Trochilidae, and are known for their large size and vibrant plumage. Found primarily in tropical and subtropical regions of Central and South America, these birds are named for their distinctive curved wing feathers that resemble a saber. Sabrewings are adept fliers, capable of hovering in place while feeding on nectar from a variety of flowers. Their iridescent feathers, which can appear in shades of green, blue, and even purple, make them a stunning sight in their natural habitats.
