Plover

The Plover bird family, known scientifically as Charadriidae, is a diverse group of wading birds found across the globe. Characterized by their compact bodies, long legs, and short bills, Plovers thrive in a variety of habitats, from coastal shores to inland wetlands. They are known for their distinctive behavior of running in short bursts, stopping abruptly, and pecking at the ground for food. Plovers are also notable for their migratory patterns, with some species traveling vast distances between breeding and wintering grounds. Conservation efforts are ongoing for several Plover species as habitat loss and environmental changes pose significant threats to their populations.
