Swift

Swifts are extraordinary aerial birds renowned for their speed, agility, and almost entirely airborne lifestyle. With long, scythe-shaped wings and streamlined bodies, they are built for flight, spending the majority of their lives on the wing—eating, sleeping, and even mating in the air. Swifts are often mistaken for swallows but are unrelated; they belong to their own family, Apodidae. These birds are found worldwide and are especially known for their long migratory journeys and preference for nesting in high crevices or old buildings. Their distinctive, high-pitched calls and effortless gliding make them a joy to observe in summer skies.
