Marten

Martens are small to medium-sized carnivorous mammals belonging to the Mustelidae family, which also includes weasels, otters, and ferrets. Found primarily in the northern hemisphere, martens inhabit forested areas across North America, Europe, and Asia. They are known for their slender bodies, bushy tails, and sharp claws, which aid in climbing and hunting. Martens are solitary animals with a diverse diet that includes small mammals, birds, insects, and fruit. Their luxurious fur has historically made them a target for hunting, although conservation efforts have helped stabilize some marten populations.
