Tropicbird

The Tropicbird bird family, known scientifically as Phaethontidae, consists of three main species: the Red-tailed Tropicbird, the White-tailed Tropicbird, and the Red-billed Tropicbird. These elegant seabirds are characterized by their strikingly long tail feathers, predominantly white plumage, and black markings around their eyes. Often found in tropical and subtropical oceanic regions, Tropicbirds are skilled fliers, capable of long-distance gliding. They primarily feed on fish and squid, diving into the ocean to catch their prey. Despite being solitary or found in small groups during most of the year, they gather in large numbers on isolated islands for breeding purposes.
