Bustard

The Bustard bird family, known scientifically as Otididae, encompasses a diverse group of large, terrestrial birds native to the open landscapes of Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Renowned for their impressive size and striking plumage, bustards are ground-dwelling birds that prefer wide, open spaces where they forage for seeds, insects, and small vertebrates. With strong, sturdy legs and a powerful build, bustards are capable of long-distance flight, although they tend to avoid flying unless necessary. Many species within this family, like the great bustard, are known for their elaborate courtship displays, which involve intricate dances and vocalizations to attract mates. Unfortunately, habitat loss and hunting have led to population declines, making conservation efforts vital for their survival.
