Stint

The Stint bird family, part of the Scolopacidae family, encompasses a variety of small wading birds known for their distinctive migratory patterns and unique plumage. These birds are predominantly found in the Arctic tundra during the breeding season, where they nest in the open ground. As winter approaches, they migrate to warmer climates, often traveling vast distances to coastal regions in Africa, Asia, and Australia. Stints are characterized by their short bills and legs, which are well-suited to their feeding habits of picking small invertebrates from mudflats and shallow waters. Their social nature often sees them in flocks, providing an impressive spectacle as they take to the skies in synchronized flight.
