Cattle-Egret

The Cattle Egret, scientifically known as Bubulcus ibis, is a species of heron found in warm-temperate, tropical, and subtropical regions. This bird is easily recognizable by its white plumage, yellow bill, and buff-colored plumes during the breeding season. Originally native to parts of Asia, Africa, and Europe, the Cattle Egret has successfully expanded its range across the Americas and other regions. Unlike other egrets, this bird is often found in fields and grasslands, frequently seen following cattle or other large animals to feed on insects stirred up by their movements. Their adaptability to various environments and ability to thrive alongside human agricultural practices have made them one of the most widespread and successful bird species globally.
