Trogon

Trogons are a family of vividly colored, soft-voiced birds found in tropical and subtropical forests around the world, particularly in Central and South America, Africa, and Asia. Known for their iridescent plumage, short necks, and unique heterodactyl feet, trogons spend most of their time perched quietly in the forest midstory or canopy. Their diet consists mainly of insects and fruit, and they often nest in tree cavities or termite mounds. With their calm demeanor and vibrant beauty, trogons are a favorite among birdwatchers and a symbol of pristine forest ecosystems.
