Forktail

The Forktail bird family, belonging to the genus Enicurus, is a group of small, striking passerine birds native to the fast-flowing streams and rivers of South and Southeast Asia. Recognized for their distinctive forked tails, these birds exhibit a unique blend of black and white plumage, often accented with shades of orange or russet. Forktails are primarily insectivorous, skillfully navigating rocky terrains to catch their prey, and are known for their melodious calls that resonate through their lush forest habitats. Despite their beauty, some Forktail species face threats from habitat destruction and require conservation efforts to ensure their survival.
