Graeme, Sarah and I visited this reserve on Sunday morning. As usual there was a spectacular sunrise. About 5 minutes after the sun came up a thick mist rolled in and in became almost impossible to see even 5 metres in front of you!
After having coffee at the picnic site and waiting around for about 2 hours we decided to abandon Marievale for the day and rather head up to Rietpan.
Although this trip turned out to be not too good birding wise it is always good to be at Marievale!!..
