Doug, Eric and I spent Sunday morning here with plenty of good winter birding. African Fish Eagle and hunting Black Shouldered Kites as well as hundreds of Pied Crows added some interest. Also had some fun watching Greyheaded Gulls chasing a Pied Kingfisher to try and steal his lunch!
Other birds seen included Giant Kingfisher, Green-backed Heron, African Darter, Common Waxbill and Goliath Heron.
Most of the roads are passable using a two wheel drive car, however there are now certain sections of the reserve that are now only passable with a high clearance vehicle and other sections where the use of low range is the only way through.
This reserve is definitely still worth the visit!..
