If you are going to Mozambique on your own and would like to go up Mt Gorongosa to see the Green-headed Oriole, I have a very good contact in Canda who will take you. Sven and I had a fabulous trip and sighting in July - it was my second attempt. In 2005 I attempted the climb from the eastern side (Vinduzi) and I just could not complete the extremely steep climb. It is so much easier from Canda. It does not look like the trips arranged by the National Park are likely to resume for quite sometime. The contact person is Dawn, Please email her for more details.
