Spent yesterday afternoon birding at Darvill and had quite a productive time. Species we saw included; Goliath Heron, Grey-crowned Crane, Red-Headed Quelea, African Reed Warbler, Diderick Cuckoo, African Snipe, ruff and Natal Francolin as well as the usual teals, ducks, geese, herons, sandpipers and other waterfowl. We also saw Slender Mongoose and Common Duiker. Here a few pictures.

Hi Matt,

Red-Headed Quelea is a great bird to get in these parts of KZN. Could you please be a little more specific as to which area of Darvill your sighting was? I have friends in Pmb that would like to go out and try connect with them.

Cheers,
Dave
