nkgray created the topic: Wales - Some 'common' birds
Well, after my Ecuadorian jungle experience I returned to London and headed straight off to the Pembrokeshire coast in SW Wales for a family holiday. As one of only 2 drivers for the 2 vehicles I was unable to indulge my birding "addiction" other than a brief visit to the RSPB reserve at Ynis-hir in Cardiganshire and photographing birds in or over the garden of our holiday cottage. So here are the 'Common' species photographed, from Newgale Hill in Pembrokeshire......

a very damp Common Buzzard

male Common Blackbird, this one partly leucistic with a white tail feather and white "eyebrow"

Common Chaffinch, male, male in flight and female

female Common Linnet

female Common Pheasant

Western Jackdaw

European Robin

European Goldfinch

White Wagtail

the ubiquitous House Sparrow, male and female

European Herring Gull, adult in flight and a 2nd-winter immature bird

faster than a speeding car, a Lesser Black-backed Gull

....and from bird feeders at Ynis-hir

Eurasian Blue Tit

Great Tit

and Eurasian Siskin, male and female
