Nice!!!

I just have not had enough time with raptors and my 1D MKIIn to post much of any great worth... Nice efforts with a slow lens.

:) Thanks Doug.

I always shot B.I.F.photos with AV mode. One of the problems i had .... is that my camera does not lock on to the bird. It kept loosing focus. In the article Bob explaines how to shoot in manual mode. I tried it and i do manage to get more keepers with his method.

I used my Sigma 50-500mm lens handheld to get these shots. I use a Pentax K10 D body.

:D I did not even notice the ring , but you are correct the bird seems to have been ringed.

I tried to blow up the original but can only see the colour .. no number.

Hi Philip

I had the same issues with AF on my 40D with BIF but far worse. My 40D proved to be faulty. In the interim I switched to a 1D MKiin andnyou cannot fault the AF. In fact many say to this day the 1D MKiin has just about the best AF system ever made.

A top pro body makes such a difference. It is almost as if no matter how you set it the camera just focus fine every time.

Cheers.
Doug.
