Easy enough ID, I suppose, as it doesn't look much different to the adult, but since Roberts Multimedia has no juvenile pics and doesn't even mention what the juveniles look like, here's Rocky Junior who visited our garden for the first time today.

Thanks Doug.

The Rock Pigeon is only an occasional visitor to our garden but we did see a lot of nest building activity a couple of months back with two adults flying back and forth with twigs in their bills. This morning one of the adults arrived and after about five minutes, this one came and joined it. It was quite sweet to watch as it seemed the adult was showing the youngster where to find food and wherever the adult went, the juvenile followed. The lawn was still in shade but after being spooked by Mr.Squawky Beak, one of our resident Louries, the juvenile very obligingly went and landed on the roof of the gazebo which was in bright sunlight by then.

I may submit these to the Roberts Online project as their software doesn't have any pics of juvenile Speckled Rock Pigeons, so maybe they'll mneed some for their online resource.
