Whilst on holiday in St. Lucia we saw this bird sitting on a dead branch and got good photos. Here's how we got the ID. Firstly, the spotted undertail led us to cuckoos then the emerging metallic green spots on the back narrowed it down to the so-called 'metallic' cuckoos. The white breast speckled with the first hints of green ruled out African Emerald Cuckoo, leaving us only with Diederik or Klaas's. Roberts Multimedia informs us that the juvenile Diederik has a red bill while other metallics have a dark bill so it had to be Klaas's. Also, Diederik would have more white above the eye, whereas Klaas's just has a small white patch behind the ear.
