Sulphur-crested Cockatoo - Cacatua galerita is, along with the Laughing Kookuburra, a quintessential Australian bird. This cockatoo is found across the northern, eastern and south eastern parts of Australia as well as a small concentration around Perth in Western Australia. They are quite distinctive with their bright yellow crests, loud harsh calls and bright white plumage. They are very common across most of their range.
