Hi All,

Thanks to Phil Penlington and his son for fantastic day out birding! It was great to meet up with you again on this side of the ocean!

The Channel-billed Cuckoo - Scythrops novaehollandiae is absent in the winter months but can be very common along the east coast of Australia in the summer months where you will often hear its loud raucous calls long before you see them. This species is the largest of all parasitic species at a whopping 65cm in length!
