Hi

I've been looking for a decent quality spotting scope for some time. I'm not in the market for the absolute high-end scopes, and had been interested in the mid-range Nikon scopes (fieldscope ED82), particularly as I had thought they afforded the opportunity to branch out into digiscoping. I have since learnt that one can only digiscope with a compact using this scope and its eyepieces.
Has anyone owned or used this Nikon ? Reviews are pretty good but i'm struggling to find somewhere in gauteng where I can go and test the 'feel' of the scope. Any suggestions?
Also, I see the ED82 was launched in 2004. Is a new model/upgrade on the way?

Regards

Adrian

Also look at the Pentax PF-80-ED. I ordered mine from BH Photovideo and it is awesome to say the least. In fact Pentax's 100mm is Beterviewdesired.com's optical reference standard.
