This post covers some of the Macaws and Amazon parrots.

Blue-and-yellow Macaw, probably the most well-known of the macaws, widespread throughout tropical South America



Blue-throated Macaw, Critically Endangered and endemic to north-central Bolivia



Golden-collared Macaw from the Pantanal of Brazil and bordering Argentina, Paraguay and Bolivia



Military Macaw, a Vulnerable species from Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia



Red-and-green Macaw, a.k.a. Green-winged Macaw, widespread throughout tropical South America



Scarlet Macaw, widespread throughout tropical Central and South America



Mealy Amazon, almost entirely green and biggest of the Amazon parrots, widespread throughout tropical Central and South America



Orange-winged Amazon, widespread throughout tropical South America and Trinidad and Tobago



Red-lored Amazon, widespread throughout tropical Central and South America



Turquoise-fronted Amazon, widespread throughout tropical Central and South America and one of the commonest cage birds owned by parrot enthusiasts



Yellow-crowned Amazon, widespread throughout tropical South America and Panama
