On a day when the sun finally came out and the temperature got well into double figures - and the schools all re-opened after the Easter break!!!! - I managed to squeeze in a trip to the RSPB reserve at Minsmere on the Suffolk coast before I head off to Chile at the end of the week.

I caught some decent shots of some of the commoner species such as Chaffinch, Blue Tit and Wren, pushed the camera to its limits on many occasions, including a rare shot of a Bittern completely in the open, and chalked up a lifer in Garganey.

..and finally that lifer - not very impressive as all he did was sleep, but this is indeed a male Garganey!!!
