HI all.

I spent the morning at Barokalalo National Park.

Arriving around 06h00 the morning chorus was quite impressive and heard quite a few nice species calling including Fan-tailed Flycatcher.

I took a drive along the waters edge of the dam. Watertfowl numbers were good but water quality seemed to be affecting the numbers of waders but I eventually ended up seeing Common Greenshank, March Sandpiper, Ruff and Black-winged Stilt.

The birding was fairly quiet as conditions were still hot, dry and dusty but the highlight of the day must surely go to the pair of Bushveld Pipits.

Cheers,
Doug

Was an awesome sighting for me. I last saw Bushveld pipit about 25 years ago!!! I've seen more Tinkling Cisticolas and Common Redshank than Bushveld Pipit [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES]
