Haven't been at home the whole week with a nasty respiratory infection, the cabin fever reached new heights on Saturday and I decided to go for a walk on the Kimiad Golf Course. I was super surprised to find an adult and a sub-adult Gymnogene perched next to each other in a dead tree.

The young bird was quite skittish and never allowed me to get too close to it.

2 minutes later I heard a mobbing party and following up on them, expecting to find a snake or mongoose I flushed a Spotted Eagle-Owl from between some rocks on the ground.

I returned yesterday morning hoping to lay eyes on my target for the weekend - Ovambo Sparrowhawk, but found its Little cousin instead having breakfast.

Later in the afternoon I finally nailed my target as it burst out of some blue gum trees in hot pursuit of two doves!

All in all a great outing to this venue. :D
