Thanks Warren. Got lucky with this one as the Coucal decided we were OK and just sat watching us for a minute or so...

Definitely need to upgrade my camera and lenses one of these days... that shot should have been super sharp!

Busy saving for a Nikon D4!!! (selling my body on the street corner just isn't earning what it used to..... <!-- s:banghead: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/banghead.gif" alt=":banghead:" title="Frustration" /><!-- s:banghead: --> )

Man i think it is awesome and way sharp, sometimes the upgrades are just a trap.still using my old 1D MK3 WITH A F4 300MM Lens.upgrading is just to pricey right now.

Yep the upgrade thing can be a trap though for myself, my trusty old Pentax K10D is getting rather long in the tooth now!

Also the old Pentax 75-300 I am using is looking a bit battle worn now having been put to very good use...

The last couple of times I have been to Marievale on a cold winters morning the camera has malfunctioned until it warms up enough... so it is definitely on its way out.

I must say it is already a massive upgrade to even the latest Pentax K5 which has a much more modern sensor as well as a hugely upgraded AF system, plus the FPS rate... taking the jump above that to have the capabilities of the Nikon will be an enormous jump for me... the AF in low light situations is superb and the FPS rate is 10FPS with full AF and AE vs 3FPS on my Pentax.... Plus the dynamic range of the sensor is like comparing the latest space rockets to the old Gemini space modules!!!

Just to have those kinds of tools gives one such an advantage!! (If I am managing to get good photos with my current set up then I should in theory be able to get far better shots and many more keepers with the newer equipment) will be a huge learning curve though.... Hoping to be able to get one early next year so still some time to save... hopefully my Pentax will last till then!!
