nkgray created the topic: Chile - update
While sitting having breakfast on the balcony of my 8th floor apartment in Santiago overlooking the Los Leones golf course, I was treated to a very noisy flypast by a group of 5 Southern Lapwing, described in the Helm Field Guide Birds of Chile as "Among the most ubiquitous, and noisy, species in C and S Chile. Well known to local people."

So the Chile list now stands at 4! Apart from maybe a House or Rufous-collared Sparrow that could well be it until I can get out of Santiago. I have made progress on that front and have made a contact through the http://www.birdingpals.com site. I will be arranging a birding outing for next weekend - so watch this space.
