African Little Sparrowhawk (Accipiter minullus) Spends much time perched but more active than large sparrowhawks, often jumping through branches and making short flights between trees.Hunts main prey of small birds on the wing in short dashes from cover, also hawks insects and, as it is crepuscular birds, bats. We watched this one building its tiny stick-nest in a fork of a Knob Thorn (Acacia nigrescens) It was noisy as it went about looking for building material, and did not seem to take notice of us - Bhejane Nature TrainingKwa-Zulu Natal
