Did you get to the Hadeda hide Warren? Because I heard the reeds around the hide have been destroyed and the flufftails have been chased away. I hope this isn't true. And well done on the Night Heron, that's a nice tick for Gauteng.

That's very disappointing news. I finish writing exams in less than 2 weeks and I was planning on staking out the flufftail as I finished. Well there goes that plan. I've never seen a Black-crowned Night-heron in Gauteng and I visit Marievle fairly regularly. Maybe I should try Rondebult, I haven't been there in quite a number of years.

Get to Marievale when it is almost still dark and stand near the bridge too the mine and they often fly over.
