nkgray created the topic: Guinea after the rains
For those that might be interested in the scenery here in this part of Guinea I took a lot of shots this morning through a pretty grubby windscreen on the daily "commute" to the project area. Apart from the dozens of Blue-spotted Wood-Dove that rise up from the road verges I see remarkably few birds on this 60km drive, apart from the odd large to very large birds that are easily identifiable such as White-crested and African Pied Hornbill, Blue-breasted kingfisher, Violet Turaco, Pied Crow and Black/Yellow-billed Kite.

The last 5 photos are taken in the project area and show how difficult it is to see any birds at all in the lush vegetation at the end of a 5-month (1500-2000mm) rainy season.
