There is a large flock of Amur Falcons (+/- 500) to be seen at the moment on the Sun City road ex the N4, opposite the Eastern Plats mine some 5km north of the N4. They spread out along the telephone lines over 1000 - 1500m on the eastern side of the road, from dawn to about 9am every day. They start dispersing after 9am but the odd one can still be seen throughout the day.

Their annoying habit is to face the sun, i.e. away from the road, so getting decent photos is a bit of a waiting game. I've tried to see if there are any Red-Footed Falcons among them, but also not easy with them facing the wrong way. Do seem to be all Amurs, however. In previous years have seen mixed groups, including Lesser Kestrel, in this same place. Haven't seen either Red-footeds or Kestrels this year though.
