nkgray created the topic: DRC pre-breakfast walk
Just finished breakfast in the DRC after a short birding walk. I couldn't get far after 96mm of rain between 2am and 4am!

Nevertheless, though short - only 16, the list of species seen contained a few for which I would have travelled far and wide to add to my life list a few years ago. In order seen they were:

Tropical Boubou
Black-crowned Tchagra
Fork-tailed Drongo
Trilling Cisticola
African Golden Oriole
White Helmetshrike
Amethyst Sunbird
White-breasted Cuckooshrike
African Firefinch
Schalow's Turaco
Cabanis's Bunting
European Hobby
Yellow-throated Greenbul
Red-faced Cisticola
Diderik Cuckoo
Miombo Scrub-robin

Neil,

Time for you to come back to SA and maybe smuggle a few species back in so that we can also have such terrific sightings.

Cheers,
Justin

We only have two of those (Fork-Tailed Drongo and Amethyst Sunbird) on our list so we would definitely travel far and wide to see some of those others. Must be fantastic out there, I'm envious!
