Jeanus created the topic: Help! Question Fish Eagle Mating
I witnessed A pair of fish eagles I know well mating along the shore ( Sat 21/10/07). There was none of the other nesting ritual that usually goes with this. It is out of mating season and all the literature I have says that pairs may do this if they did not successfully rear young in the season. However this pair did and I have seen the juvenile along the shore with them.

My question is - Could this be a reaffirmation of the pair bond as they are reestablishing territory borders with the neighboring pair after putting all their efforts into rearing the young one for some time?

Interesting question and one I certainly do not know the answer to. I would be interested to see if anyone else responds with some suggestions.
