Hi All,

Had a relaxed morning driving around Marievale this morning. Had a very fruitful morning, with really good views of Jackal Buzzard (which I have never seen at this location before), Marsh Owl, African Marsh Harrier, Yellow-billed Stork, all the egrets except Slaty, Black, Blackheaded, Grey and Purple Heron, Greyheaded Gull, hundreds of Spurwing Goose and one lone Little Stint, which is in stark contrast to the last time I was there where there were literally thousands of waders present.

One or two pics from this morning:

The Jackal Buzzard

Marievale is starting to go those beautiful winter browns! (it was down to 9deg C this morning...)

Malachite Kingfisher

Spurwing Geese

As mentioned previously the road to shelduck hide is now open, however care should be taken over the new drainage sections.

Cheers,
Gordon
